Liberty Hill Independent School District On Top in Austin Area
Only two school districts in the Austin area – Liberty Hill and Eanes – met federal progress standards both overall and at every campus, according to a recent article in the Austin American Statesman.

The federal Adequate Yearly Progress standards are based on participation and performance on state assessments, graduation rates, and attendance. LHISD has met AYP standards each year since progress standards for the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 were implemented.

Statewide, 48 percent of campuses did not meet federal standards. Local schools that missed AYP include Austin, Round Rock, Leander, Pflugerville, Hays, Hutto, Dripping Springs, Lake Travis, and Georgetown.
